Joe Biden, the 46th President of the United States, will not make a bid for a second term.
The President had been facing pressure to leave the 2024 Presidential race after a rough performance at last month's debate called his fitness for office into question. He has since contracted COVID-19, leading to graver concerns about his health as rumors swirled that Vice President Kamala Harris may be better equipped for the job.
Over the past few weeks, Vice President Harris has been (lovingly) memed across the internet for past comments about context and coconut trees. It's no surprise, then, that folks on X were characteristically unserious about today's announcement from President Biden, and thrilled at the prospect of a Harris 2024 ticket.
